Our standard procedure to installing a gravel driveway is by first replacing the existing driveway area. If there is currently only a base, we will grade the base off to ensure a solid foundation for laying the new surface. It is very important that the base is permeable since the only way of draining water off the driveway is down through it.
When the new foundation is prepared, we will machine roll and compact it, heavy duty permeable membrane sheeting is laid over the base to stop any weeds and keep a barrier between the base and the decorative stone. The final stage is applying the chosen gravel finish to the driveway.
